The "San Juan Slam" is a fun angling challenge we offer our customers to get the full San Juan River fishing experience. A slam in fishing is usually catching 3 species in one day. A San Juan Slam is catching trout in the Quality Water with 3 different techniques inside of a day. Guests earn a sticker by landing a trout on a nymph rig, a dry fly, and a streamer during the guide day. The San Juan suffers from an identity crisis and we hope to change that here at About Trout. The river is so much more than indicator nymphing and can offer anglers some phenomenal dry fly and streamer fishing when conditions allow. Next time you're out with us, give the challenge a try.
